Jaffer Calls on State Rep. Mike Nearman to Support Tax Relief for Small Businesses
Independence, OR – May 21, 2018 – Today, retired Naval aviator and candidate for Oregon House District 23 Danny Jaffer issued the following statement calling on incumbent State Rep. Mike Nearman to support tax relief for Oregon small businesses during this week’s special session:
“Small businesses are crucial to the economic wellbeing of communities all across our state, especially here in rural Oregon,” said Jaffer. “They create jobs, provide essential goods and services, and reinvest their earnings in our local economies. That’s why it’s crucial for legislators set aside extreme partisanship and work together to provide meaningful and substantial tax relief for Oregon’s small businesses.”
Jaffer was born and raised in Polk County. He earned a bachelor’s degree in technical journalism from Oregon State University and served as a helicopter pilot in the U.S. Navy for over twenty years, including deployments in Operation Desert Shield, Operation Desert Storm, and the Global War on Terrorism. Jaffer also earned a law degree from the University of Oregon School of Law and currently serves as the president of the Luckiamute Domestic Water Cooperative Board of Directors. Jaffer and his family reside in rural Polk County, south of Independence.
