Corvallis Gazette Times,

Dear Editor:

With all the partisan rancor going on in our country these days, it’s refreshing when politicians from both sides of the aisle can come together to agree on something.

Such was the case with Oregon SB 1551, a bill to extend protections to victims of data breaches. This timely, helpful bill was approved unanimously by both Oregon’s House and Senate … well, ALMOST unanimously. One lone legislator voted against: Mike Nearman of District 23. He also voted no against net neutrality (HB 4155), a bill that also enjoyed wide bipartisan support.

We have a candidate running for Oregon House District 23, Danny Jaffer, who is committed to supporting rational, bipartisan legislation that will help protect Oregonians. Danny was born and raised in Polk County and has a proven record of service to his country. He served for 20 years as a U.S. Navy helicopter pilot.

Danny will be an independent voice of integrity and basic common sense, no matter where or from which side of the aisle the legislation comes. It’s time District 23’s residents voted no to Mike Nearman and unconstructive politics.

Let’s vote for a change of leadership in District 23. Vote for Danny Jaffer.
